PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which has high front contrast and is suppressed in display unevenness.SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes a first polarizing plate, a liquid crystal cell, a second polarizing plate and a backlight in order. The liquid crystal cell includes an array substrate which is disposed on the second polarizing plate side and includes a thin film transistor and a color filter, a counter substrate which is disposed on the first polarizing plate side and faces the array substrate, and a liquid crystal layer which is held between the array substrate and the counter substrate and contains liquid crystal molecules. The second polarizing plate includes a second polarizer and a protective film F3 disposed between the second polarizer and the array substrate. The protective film F3 includes a transparent polymer base material layer and a resin layer which is disposed on a surface on the second polarizer side and contains thermoplastic resin containing a polyether unit, a polyester unit or a polyacrylic unit. An adhesion layer containing a cured material of a photocurable resin is disposed between the resin layer and the second polarizer. |
