The device (1) has a feed rail (3) on which closure elements (2) are fed in a series to each other. An optical controlling unit (4) i.e. camera, tests the closure elements, and is arranged on the feed rail, and an ejector (5) ejects the unsuitable detected closure elements. A separating unit separates the closure elements, and the optical control device is arranged on the separating unit for evaluating scattered closure elements. The closure elements are supplied into the feed rail such that the closure elements with an upper side are aligned in a vertical direction.
