PURPOSE: A frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar apparatus of balance structure is provided to improve radar receiving sensitivity by removing a transmission leakage signal or FM-AM conversion noise removal characteristics. CONSTITUTION: A frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar apparatus includes couplers (120,130), a signal generator (140) and a balance mixer (170). The coupler outputs an input signal as two signals having 180 degree phase difference of same amplitude. The signal generator outputs two LO signals having 180 degree phase difference. The balance mixer part receives the output signal of the coupler or the output signal of the signal generator, and offsets the received signals by 180 degree phase difference at an intermediate frequency (IF) part.
