PURPOSE: Water-soluble paint composition for automotive surface coating is provided to offer sufficient vehicle exterior and physical property with room temperature dry (10 minutes) without flash-off process in an existing water-soluble paint process and to reduce process cost of a water-soluble paint system. CONSTITUTION: Water-soluble paint composition includes 20-40 wt% of polyester resin, 5-15 wt% of acrylic resin, 1-10 wt% of water-dispersible urethane resin, 10-30 wt% of methylated melamine curing agent, co-solvent selected from a group consisting of 1-5 wt% of butyl glycol, butyl carbitol and n-propyl alcohol and 10-20 wt% of water. The polyester resins is oleophilic polyester resin with 20-50 mg/KOH/g range of an acid number, which resin is synthesized with a fundamental structure based on 1,6-hexanediol and adipic acid.
