The device has a variable voltage application unit consisting of a control module (CMD), voltage source (V) and transistors, for applying a variable voltage varying from a value equal to a high voltage to a value equal to a low voltage (Vlow), to a supply terminal. Another voltage application unit consists of a control unit, controlled switch (K2) and another transistor, for selectively supplying the low voltage to a supply terminal (L) when the variable voltage attains the low voltage. A measurement unit measures the voltage in the supply terminal.
