Packet switching system for telecom network node

The system has a set of input modules and output modules cooperating with a switching matrix and a central controller. The modules and controller integrate arbitration functions executed by successive arbitration cycles. Each cycle has a phase (P1) executed to transmit a request (RQijq) to output modules, and another phase (P2) executed to determine admissible quantities (PGRijq) of packets. A third phase (P3) is executed to determine admitted aggregated quantities (AGRij), and a fourth phase (P4) is executed to determine admitted detailed quantities (GRijq) of packets.
