PURPOSE: A digital image device and a control method thereof are provided to change the view angle of a user image or apply PAN/TILT effects without changing or adding a mechanical component for a user input part of the digital image device. CONSTITUTION: A lens (111) of an image input part (110) receives external image input. An imaging device (112) of the image input part converts the inputted external image into an electric image signal. An image control part (170) selects a region, which is to be outputted as an electric image signal by the imaging device, on the inputted external image. An image encoder (130) converts the image signal of the selected region, which is outputted from the imaging device, into a fixed format.
