PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device capable of achieving the consistent clamping force when clamping an outer column to an inner column. SOLUTION: Three ribs 81, 82, 83 are formed so that the sectional area in the direction orthogonal to the axis is increased from a closed end 73 side of a slit 7 to an open end 71 side. An arc-shaped rib 86 for connecting ribs 85, 85 is formed on an upper surface side of an outer circumferential surface 11A of an outer column 11. Thus, the sectional area in the direction orthogonal to the axis of the outer column 11 on the side opposite to the slit 7 is formed larger from the closed end 73 side of the slit 7 to the open end 71 side.
