PURPOSE: A gas cylinder is provided to easily control the height of a spindle because a valve body is open or closed regardless of operation directions of a lever, thereby highly improving convenience in use. CONSTITUTION: A gas cylinder includes a valve (150) body which controls gas charged in a cylinder to move through a gas channel between an outer peripheral surface of the cylinder and an inner peripheral surface of a spindle; an opening/closing pin (155) which opens or closes the valve by moving up and down. The opening/closing pin includes a lever at an upper portion having a rotation start point changed by up and down movements in order to control the up and down movement of the opening/closing pin. The gas cylinder comprises spindle (110) which moves up and down within a base tube; a cylinder (120) which is installed inside of the spindle and forms a gas channel with a gap between the cylinder and the spindle; a piston rod which is fixed inside of the based tube; a piston which is installed at an upper part of the piston rod to partition inside of the cylinder into an upper chamber and a lower chamber; a valve body which is mounted on the top end of the cylinder in order to control the gas charged inside of the cylinder to move to the upper chamber or to the lower chamber according to the up and down movement of the opening/closing pin through the gas channel; and a support box member (160) which is disposed at the top of the opening/closing pin and has a first fulcrum hole and a second fulcrum hole at both sides to be perpendicular to a center axis.
