<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger for effectively removing dust of a heat transfer tube so as to stably recover waste heat from a lime baking plant. <P>SOLUTION: A gas inlet port connected to an exhaust gas assembly room of a great preheater is at an upper end of a heat exchanger body 10A, and a gas outlet port connected to an assembly duct is at the lower part. A coiled-pipe type heat transfer tube 14 is in a vertical surface, and straight tube parts 14a are horizontal and orthogonal to a gas flow. Outer walls 10B are on the outside of sidewalls of the heat exchanger body to form a dual-wall structure. Openings are on the sidewalls, and both right/left ends of the straight tube parts of the coiled-pipe type heat transfer tube penetrate the openings of the sidewalls of the heat exchanger body to project to the outside. A first suspending means H1 and a second suspending means H2 are respectively between the sidewalls and outer walls. The right/left end parts 14e1, 14e2 of the straight tube parts of the coiled-pipe type heat transfer tube are supported by the first suspending means H1 and the second suspending means H2.
