PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a wireless communication system capable of efficiently and highly accurately performing channel measurement, when a plurality of relay stations exist. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to the wireless communication system including: a base station 1; a terminal 3; and relay devices 2-1, 2-2 for relaying communication between the base station 1 and the terminal 3, wherein the base station 1 transmits to the relay devices 2-1, 2-2 a control signal containing a pilot signal pattern indicating cyclic arrangement of pilot signals for each relay device, and the relay device 2-1, 2-2 extracts, amplifies and transmits a pilot signal from a reception signal, on the basis of a pilot signal pattern, corresponding to the device itself.
