PURPOSE: A method or operating recycle boxes of an automated teller machine (ATM) is provided to uniformly maintain the life of the recycle boxes by operating the recycle boxes with uniform operation rate. CONSTITUTION: When bills are charged in a third recycle box (30) through a supplementary box, the third recycle box is set as a withdrawal box and a second recycle box (20) arranged in the right side of the third recycle box is set as a deposit recycle box. The bills are rotationally withdrawn from the third recycle box by priority, in which bills are supplemented by the supplementary box, the second recycle box, and a first recycle box (10) in order. The bills are rotationally deposited to the second recycle box by priority, arranged in the right side of the withdrawal recycle box, the first recycle box, and the third recycle box in order.
