A vent plug for a storage battery comprises a cup member 10 having a single hole 20, serving for the entry of gas and any entrained liquid and for the draining back of the liquid, and a cap 12 having a vent hole 24 and an integral dependent baffle 22 extending into the direct path of fluid flow from the hole 20 to the hole 24. As shown, the baffle is preferably tubular and the lower part 14 of the cup of reduced diameter. The ratio of the cross-sectional areas of the interior of the baffle, the annular chamber 19 and the annular chamber 28 is substantially 1:4:7. |
