摘要 PURPOSE: An yttrium-cerium-aluminum garnet phosphor is provided to shift the emitting color of the phosphor toward a long wavelength and to maintain sufficient luminous performance even at high temperatures. CONSTITUTION: An yttrium-cerium-aluminum garnet phosphor contains nanocrystal particles which contain cerium with higher concentration than the concentration of cerium on the matrix of a crystal tissue, have an average particle diameter of 5-20 nm and are dispersed in the crystal tissue. The molar ratio of the cerium to the sum of the yttrium and the cerium is 4-15 mol%. A light emitting device comprises a light emitting diode which emits light with an emitting wavelength of 400-470 nm; and the phosphor changing the wavelength of the light from the light emitting diode.
