PURPOSE: An absolute position detecting system is provided to implement a stable operation by facilitating installation and maintenance. CONSTITUTION: Multiple pattern parts have one or more first and second patterns. The first and second patterns have different light reflectivity. A pattern scanning part (120) measures each light reflectivity. A data processing part (130) respectively recognizes the multiple pattern parts. A position detecting part (140) detects an absolute position of the pattern part.
