发明名称 A THYROID UPTAKE MEASUREMENT APPARATUS WITH COLLIMATOR FOR IDENTIFYING RADIATION DISTRIBUTION
摘要 PURPOSE: A thyroid intake rate examination instrument is provided to obtain the X-axis and the Y-axis profiles of radiation amount radiated from the thyroid by operating a collimator on a shielding plate in a direction which is inclined at a 45° angle from the direction of a pair of slits and measuring the amount of radiation which passes through the pair slits, thereby accurately examining the distribution and the amount of radioactive isotopes in the thyroid. CONSTITUTION: : A thyroid intake rate examination instrument includes a scintillator which reacts to the incoming radiation and generates flashes; a photo multiplier which is connected to the rear end of the scintillator and converts the flashes into an electric signal; a signal processor which processes the electric signal inputted from the photo multiplier; a radiation shield unit which surrounds the scintillator and the photo multiplier and has an aperture at one side for incident radiation; a collimator (100) which is located in the front of the aperture of the radiation shield unit and filters the incident radiation in flashes through the aperture; and a driving unit (110) which is connected to the collimator and moves the collimator in a first axis direction. The collimator has a pair of slits which are at a right angle to a shielding plate which is made of radiation shielding material. The amount of radiation passing through the pair of slits is measured by a scanning process with a uniaxial movement by the driving unit to obtain the X-axis and the Y-axis profile of the amount of radiation emitted from the thyroid, and by doing so, the distribution of radioactive isotopes in the thyroid is examined.
