<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system and method that hardly causes fluctuation of a transmission delay time during communication thereof, and also inversion of sequence of data transmission and reception. <P>SOLUTION: The communication system includes a first communication device 2 and second communication device 3 where data are reciprocally transmitted and received, a communication network 4 having a plurality of communication paths for connecting the first communication device 2 and second communication device 3, a communication path evaluation portion 11 for evaluating communication quality as to at least one communication path out of a plurality of the communication paths, and a path management portion 12 for selecting one communication path out of a plurality of the communication paths.
