Class 79(2) [Also in Group XXXIV] In a brake system for vehicles, particularly tractors, wherein two independently operated brakes, which may be band brakes 10, of which only one is shown in Fig. 1, are independently operable by separate actuating members 21, a third actuating members, for example handlever 22, is adapted to be connected to at least one of the brakes 10 upon actuation of one or other of members 21. As shown in the Figure, the handlever 22 operates through rod 41 a lever 40 which pivotally supports a pawl 39, but pawl 39 cannot engage a ratchet member 37 to transmit force through linkage 38, 18 to apply band brank 10 until one or the other of members 21 has been actuated to bring the ratchet member 37 underneath the pawl 39. |
