Analyzing and detecting a sample or properties of a sample comprises: (a) measuring the induced luminescence of the sample; (b) measuring the chemiluminescence of the sample; (c) creating a signature of sample by relating chemiluminescence values and/or the induced luminescence values, by calculating the relative values of chemiluminescence and/or induced luminescence; (d) comparing the signature of the sample with signatures of known samples from a database; and (e) identifying or determining the properties of the sample or sample based on the signature with signatures from the database. Analyzing and detecting a sample or properties of a sample comprises: (a) measuring the induced luminescence of the sample at a wavelength of excitation; (b) measuring the chemiluminescence of the sample at a wavelength; (c) creating a signature of the sample by relating the chemiluminescence values and/or the induced luminescence values, by calculating the relative values of chemiluminescence and/or induced luminescence; (d) comparing the signature of the sample with signatures of known samples from a database; and (e) identifying or determining the properties of the sample or sample based on the signature obtained in the steps (a)-(c) with signatures from the database. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a computer program comprising a program code arrangement, recorded on a machine-readable medium, for carrying out the above mentioned method when the computer program is run on at least one computer; (2) a device comprising a computer-readable storage medium containing program instructions for carrying out the method; (3) a system for the analysis and/or detection of the sample or properties of the sample, comprising the device for direct measurement of the induced luminescence and chemiluminescence of the sample, a data processing unit comprising a software or a computer program for carrying out the method for obtaining signatures and a database containing known signatures; and (4) a database containing signatures of samples based on the values determined by correlation of the chemiluminescence, and / or induced luminescence values of these samples and optionally by mapping properties and characteristics of these samples. |
