PURPOSE: A light emitting device and a light emitting device package are provided to increase the intensity of light by producing a first and a second light with different emission spectrums. CONSTITUTION: A second conductive semiconductor layer (19) is arranged on a first conductive semiconductor layer (15). An active layer (17) is arranged between the first and the second conductive semiconductor layer. The active layer includes barrier layers (130a,130b,130c) and first and second well layers (110a,110b,120a,120b). The first and second well layers are alternately arranged between the barrier layers. The thickness of the first well layer is different from the thickness of the second well layer.
