<p>PURPOSE: An input device equipped with a touch input unit and an input method thereof are provided to enable a user to intuitively generate and control a graphical user interface (GUI) component by oneself even when the GUI component is not displayed on a screen. CONSTITUTION: A touch input part (11) receives touch input from a user, and a storage part (200) stores the type and control method of figures corresponding to specific commands. A control part (100) recognizes a figure inputted from the touch input part and a control method for the figure, and executes a command corresponding to the control of the figure. A display part (12) displays the content of the input from the touch input part. If the figure inputted from the touch input part is a figure stored in the storage part, the control part changes properties of the shape, size, color, and transparency of the figure and displays on the display part.
