PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method which removes noise in digital photographs are provided to remove noise of an image with maintaining natural properties of environment. CONSTITUTION: A portable terminal consecutively captures ambient images photographed without using flash and one or more flash images photographed with using the flash (201,202). The portable terminal applies image alignment method to the ambient image and the flash image (203). The portable terminal applies a joint average movement filtering to the flash image. Filter weights is obtained (205). The portable terminal applies filter weights to the ambient image. The noise of the ambient image is removed (206).
