PURPOSE: A cut flower processing method is provided to maintain the quality of cut flowers, and to extend the life of the cut flowers without transporting the cut flowers at low temperatures. CONSTITUTION: Cut flowers are dipped in a cut flower life extending agent for 14-16 hours. The dipped flowers are seal-packaged. Air inside the package is replaced with mixed gas composed of 1-6vol% of oxygen, 1-6vol% of carbon dioxide, and 88-98vol% of nitrogen. The cut flower life extending agent contains 300 parts of sucrose by weight, 0.9-1.1 parts of aluminum sulfate by weight, 8-9 parts of ascorbic acid by weight, 1.8-2.2 parts of magnesium nitrate by weight, and 0.4-0.6 parts of calcium chloride by weight.
