PURPOSE: A roasting device and a method are provided to prevent carbonization of barley in an instance and to produce barley coffee with the best taste and scent. CONSTITUTION: A roaster (100) roasts barley applying heat directly or indirectly after placing barley in a drum for roasting. One side of a join for roasting exhaust discharge (200) is connected to the roaster through a pipe for leading-in and the other side is connected to a pipe for discharge which discharges the air inside. A forced exhaust device (300) is connected to the pipe for discharge and discharges exhaust leading-in with force. One side of a cyclone (400) is connected to a join for combustion gas discharge and gathers exhaust discharged after roasting. An hopper (500) is connected to the other side of the cyclone. A damper capable of controlling flow rate of roasting exhaust is installed inside of the joint for roasting exhaust discharge. [Reference numerals] (AA) Exhaust |
