PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device and a liquid crystal television which can increase luminance of pixels without lowering the color purity of four primary colors.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal television includes a liquid crystal panel 11 having four primary colors color filter 13 of red, green, blue, and yellow, a back light 12 having R-LEDs, G-LEDs and B-LEDs for irradiating the liquid crystal panel 11 with light of red, green, and blue, and a television signal processing unit 7 which converts an input color video signal into a signal indicating red, green, blue, and yellow regarding the color video. In the liquid crystal television, when displaying red or green, luminance of the R-LED or the G-LED is increased. |
