PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaluation method of a gas diffusion layer for a fuel cell capable of preventing a carbon fiber protruded from an inside of the gas diffusion layer from damaging an electrolyte membrane by estimating a state of the carbon fiber inside the gas diffusion layer for the fuel cell, and capable of suppressing performance reduction of the fuel cell.SOLUTION: The evaluation method of a gas diffusion layer for a fuel cell formed of a fibrous material comprises: a first step of obtaining an image in the gas diffusion layer of a plurality of planes roughly parallel to a lamination plane laminated with the gas diffusion layer; and a second step of estimating, from the images of the fibrous material of the gas diffusion layer in a plurality of images, a length Lf of the fibrous material and a tilt &thetas; of the fibrous material with respect to the plane. |
