PURPOSE: A security set-top device for a smart TV and a security method using the same are provided to monitor all information and data transmitted to the smart TV in real time, thereby blocking a risk factor in advance. CONSTITUTION: An internet access monitoring unit (30) monitors an inputted information provider (IP). In case a smart TV is connected to the internet, a malignant code and hacking monitoring unit (40) detects a malignant code and hacking. In case the malignant code and hacking are detected, an internet blocking unit (70) outputs an internet blocking signal through the internet access monitoring unit. A malignant code cure and deletion unit (50) cures or deletes a detected malignant code. A wireless communication unit (60) detects wireless hacking through the internet access monitoring unit and wirelessly transmits a signal of hacking information to the smart TV.
