PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor controller which can discriminate a case where a position sensor signal is in a failure state and a case where a motor itself is in a failure state, when a position sensor is abnormal.SOLUTION: A motor controller including a position sensor 8 outputting a position sensor signal by detecting changeover of N pole and S pole of the rotor 31 of a motor 5, and inverter control means 6 outputting a drive signal for rotating the rotor 31 on the basis of the position sensor signal is further provided with position sensor signal detection means 7 for detecting the position sensor signal, and motor current detection means 9 for detecting the value of a motor current flowing through the motor 5. When the position sensor signal detection means 7 does not detect the position sensor signal within a predetermined period and the motor current value is less than a predetermined value, the position sensor is considered abnormal. When the position sensor signal detection means 7 does not detect the position sensor signal within a predetermined period and the motor current value goes above a predetermined value, the motor 5 is considered to be in a locked state and stopped. |
