PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a glass substrate for HDD having little strain inside glass blanks, and hardly generating a crack in a high-temperature heat treatment step in a production step of the glass substrate, and to provide glass blanks and a glass substrate obtained by the production method.SOLUTION: This method for producing a glass substrate for HDD has a blank molding step of cutting molten glass drooping from an outflow nozzle by a cutting means to obtain a glass gob, and press-molding the glass gob to obtain glass blanks; a heating/heat retaining step of heating the glass gob cut by the cutting means, by a heating means or the like provided below the cutting means, or the like; and a press molding step of press-molding the glass gob. Glass blanks and a glass substrate obtained by the production method are also provided. |
