PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for degassing a liquid crystal cell capable of suppressing that the center parts of the respective substrates of a pair of substrates of the liquid crystal cell swell out in vacuum annealing treatment.SOLUTION: In a method for degassing a liquid crystal cell 2, the liquid crystal cell 2 including a pair of substrates 1 consisting of a first substrate 1a, and a second substrate 1b arranged opposite to the first substrate 1a, a sealant 4 which forms a liquid crystal injection space 3 between the pair of substrates 1 by sticking the first substrate 1a and the second substrate 1b to each other, and a liquid crystal injection port 5 for injecting liquid crystal in the liquid crystal injection space 3, which is provided by penetrating the seal member 4 is used, air bags 6 are arranged, respectively so as to sandwich the outer main faces of the first substrate 1a and the second substrate 1b from both sides, the liquid crystal cell 2 is heated, a space including the liquid crystal cell 2 and the air bags 6 is simultaneously decompressed, and the outer main faces of the first substrate 1a and the second substrate 1b are compressed by the air bags 6. |
