PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily prevent air leakage from suction holes which are determined according to the size of a recording medium and not used for sucking and holding the recording medium.SOLUTION: The recording deice includes: a placing unit 17 which has a placing surface 13 for placing the recording medium, and where a plurality of suction holes 15 are formed on the placing surface 13; an ink ejection unit 27 for ejecting ink to the recording medium placed on the placing surface 13; and an adjusting mechanism 25 for adjusting the size of the working surface 23 for sucking and holding the recording medium on the placing surface 13. The adjusting mechanism 25 adjusts the size of the working surface 13 by pulling out a retractable masking sheet 53 from the outside of the side of the placing unit 17 to the placing surface 13 to mask part of the suction holes 15. |
