摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device which has further improved discharge characteristics.SOLUTION: The display device comprises: a luminous tube array consisting of a plurality of luminous tubes arranged in parallel; a display electrode disposed on the front side of the light-emitting tube array in a direction intersecting the luminous tubes; and address electrodes disposed on the back side of the luminous tube array along the longer direction of each luminous tube. The luminous tubes each have a tube, an auxiliary discharge film provided on the inner surface of the tube, and a phosphor film provided on the inner surface on the back side of the tube. The auxiliary discharge film, on its inner surface on the front side of the tube, includes a surface layer containing at least one metal oxide selected from the group consisting of MgO, CaO, BaO and SrO and a group of fine particles of magnesium oxide crystal partly exposed from the surface layer, and, on its inner surface on the back side of the tube, includes an auxiliary discharge film consisting only of the surface layer not containing fine particles of magnesium oxide crystal, with the phosphor film disposed on the auxiliary discharge film on the back side of the tube.
