PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer in which a cutter is not exposed when an opening/closing cover is in an open state and in which a user does not get injured when changing paper sheets.SOLUTION: The printer which lets out a sheet of paper from a sheet roll stored in a body case, carries out printing on a surface of the sheet of paper, and discharges the printed sheet of paper from a sheet discharge port includes: an opening closing cover provided to open and close with respect to the body case; a cutter that is attached to the body case or the opening/closing cover, exposed to the sheet discharge port, and used for cutting the printed sheet of paper from the sheet roll; and a cutter protection mechanism configured to expose the cutter at the sheet discharge port when the opening/closing cover is in a closed state and conceal the cutter avoiding the exposure when the opening/closing cover is in an open state in correspondence with an opening movement or a closing movement of the opening/closing cover. As a result, the cutter is not exposed when the opening/closing cover is in an open state, to prevent a user from being injured when changing paper sheets, etc. |
