PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress fracture of a glass belt in a production method of glass belts where the direction of traveling of the glass belt is changed from the downward direction to the lateral direction.SOLUTION: In the production method of a glass belt 2, the glass belt 2 having a plate thickness of 300 μm or less at the part except both ends in the width direction is formed while traveling it downward, and then the direction of traveling thereof is changed to the lateral direction so that the front side of the glass belt 2 among the front and rear surfaces is turned to the topside. The glass belt 2 is introduced into a direction changing region while the front side thereof is recessed in the width direction. The glass belt 2 with its front side recessed satisfies the relation of 0>δ≥-200 mm, wherein δ is the maximum depth of the recession from an imaginary straight line connecting both ends in the width direction, and the front side of the glass belt is positive. |
