PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine which prevents washing water held in the washing machine from springing a leak all at a burst even if a filter body is removed when the washing machine is powered off.SOLUTION: The washing machine includes an outer tub for holding washing water, an inner tub, as a washing/dewatering tub, rotatably provided in the outer tub, and a foreign matter-collecting device which has a filter case having a water inlet opening and a water outlet opening formed therein, and a filter body sliding in an axial direction to be attached and detached to and from the filter case by rotation of a handle of a tip end of the filter case, in which watertight is maintained by contacting an outer peripheral surface of an annular elastic body attached to the filter body with an inner peripheral surface of the filter case. A recessed part is provided at a predetermined position in an axial direction of the filter case on a part of the inner surface in a circumference direction. |
