PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gateway unit which blocks fraud for an on-vehicle device connected with an onboard communication network via a connector for connection with an external device, by identifying whether or not a tool connected with the connector is a normal product.SOLUTION: When a communication frame transmitted from an external tool 3 by using a K-Line protocol is received, the external tool 3 determines that it is a normal product and "authenticated" (S110-N, S120-S130), and then receives the communication frame transmitted from an external tool 3 by using a CAN protocol. When the communication frame is not a specific frame, it is relayed (transfer of frame) unconditionally. When the communication frame is a specific frame, it is not relayed if it is not "authenticated". If it is "authenticated" and termination conditions are not satisfied, it is relayed, and if the termination conditions are satisfied, "authenticated" is cancelled and the communication frame is not relayed (S110-Y, S130-S180). |
