PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving amount detection apparatus capable of detecting a moving amount even without storing a parameter value beforehand for each condition such as a temperature condition or an aging condition, and a barrel.SOLUTION: A moving amount detection apparatus 110 comprises a XOR section 113 which receives an analog signal repeating an amplitude change in accordance with a moving amount of an AF lens 120 and outputs a pulse signal indicating a result of comparing magnitudes of the amplitude and a predetermined reference amplitude, an ADC 114 which receives the analog signal and outputs an amplitude signal indicating a result of sampling the amplitude of the analog signal in a predetermined cycle, a detector 115 which calculates a moving speed of the AF lens 120 as a first speed based on the pulse signal, a detector 115 which calculates the moving speed of the AF lens 120 as a second speed based on the amplitude signal, and a detector 115 which detects a moving amount based on the amplitude signal or the pulse signal in accordance with a result of comparing the first speed and the second speed. |
