PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for more efficiently producing (-)-3a,6,6,9a-tetramethyldodecahydronaphtho [2,1-b] furan by using SHC.SOLUTION: The method for producing (-)-3a,6,6,9a-tetramethyldodecahydronaphtho [2,1-b] furan is characterized by affecting homofarnesols with protein containing an amino acid motif sequence expressed by the following formula (1): G-Y-X-X-G-X-L-X-Q-X-X-E-L-X, [in the formula, Xrepresents G or S; Xrepresents V or I; Xrepresents 9-13 optional amino acids; Xrepresents an optional amino acid; Xrepresents G or H; and Xand Xindependently represent optional amino acids], and a protein having a squalene-hopene cyclization activity. |
