PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting element with improved light extraction efficiency.SOLUTION: The light emitting device comprises: a light emitting structure 19 including at least a first conductivity type semiconductor layer 13, an active layer 15, and a second conductivity type semiconductor layer 17; and a light extraction structure 27 on the light emitting structure. The light extraction structure is formed by stacking a plurality of metal layers 23a, 23b and dielectric layers 25. Since many metal layers and many dielectric layers stacked alternately with each other to have a negative refraction index, the light extraction efficiency may be maximized such that light is reflected not to the inside but to the outside. |
