PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for narrowing retrieval capable of designating a group that a user wants to exclude when executing a retrieval.SOLUTION: An information processing apparatus for performing retrieval processing according to a retrieval request includes: management means for grouping and managing retrieval objects in a table; receiving means for receiving the retrieval request subjected to group designation; retrieval means for performing retrieval processing from the table managed by the management means for each group included in the retrieval request received by the receiving means; exclusion means for excluding a retrieval result of the group to be excluded which is acquired as the result of the retrieval by the retrieval means from a retrieval result of a group other than the group to be excluded which is acquired as the result of the retrieval by the retrieval means when there is a group that the retrieval request received by the receiving means designates to be excluded; and transmission means for transmitting the retrieval result excluded by the exclusion means.
