PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of operating a septum valve by which a variation of furnace top gas pressure is reduced during planned shutdown of a furnace top pressure recovery power generator (TRT) of a blast furnace.SOLUTION: This method is used to control a septum valve of a blast furnace including a furnace top pressure power generating facility and a septum valve provided in parallel thereto. The septum valve is provided with a control valve, a range valve and an emergency opening valve that are connected in parallel to each other through a piping route, and a vibration detector is provided in the piping route of the septum valve. The vibration detector is used to grasp beforehand the opening upper-limit value of the emergency opening valve wherein the acceleration of vibration generating in the piping route becomes below a predetermined value, as well as a period when the emergency opening valve reaches the opening upper-limit value. During the planned shutdown of the furnace top pressure power generating facility, the emergency opening valve is controlled at the grasped opening upper-limit value and period reaching the opening upper-limit value. |
