CATALYST AND PROCESS TO PRODUCE BRANCHED UNSATURATED ALDEHYDES

PURPOSE: A manufacturing method of a branched unsaturated aldehyde is provided to manufacture a branched unsaturated aldehyde capable of manufacturing a branched acid by an oxidation, with an improved selectivity. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of a branched unsaturated aldehyde comprises a step of providing a feedstock which has 99.99 wt% of a C_n unsaturated aldehyde; a step of attaching the feedstock to a resin which contains an acid functional group and does not contain a metal from the group VIII; a step of generating an exit stream of which the reaction selectivity to the branched unsaturated C_2n aldehyde is at least 92%, by the reaction between the mixture and the resin; and a step of removing at least parts of the C_n branched unsaturated C_2n aldehyde; and additionally includes a step of recycling parts of the exit stream.
