PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation input system that enables operation input more reliable than before without gazing at a display screen, and enables operation input excellent in convenience.SOLUTION: An operation input system comprises: a touch pad 10 that detects a detection object D in contact with or in proximity to an operation surface 11a to receive an input corresponding to the detection position; a protrusion member 20 that is provided to be protrudable from the operation surface 11a; a protrusion control unit that controls the position of the protrusion member 20 in a protrusion direction; a display device 40 that displays an image on a display screen 41; and a depiction control unit that controls depiction of an image to be displayed on the display screen 41. The protrusion control unit, when specific operation marks 44S among a plurality of types of operation marks 44 are displayed on the display screen 41, brings protrusion members 20 corresponding to the respective specific operation marks 44S into a protruding state.
