PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ballast tank system that retains buoyancy of a hull with high probability when the hull is pierced and flooded, and to provide a ship therewith.SOLUTION: A ballast tank system 20 includes: ballast tanks 21, 22, 23P-25P, 23S-25S, 26, 27P, and 27S; pipelines 31, 32, 33P-35P, 33S-35S, 36, 37P, and 37S that supply water/drain away water to/from ballast tanks; valves 41, 42, 43P-45P, 43S-45S, 46, 47P, and 47S that are provided in the pipelines; watertight structured recesses 51, 52, 53P-55P, 53S-55S, 56, 57P, and 57S that are arranged in the ballast tanks. The valves are arranged in the recesses. |
