PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glossy image forming method which is capable of causing a thermal transfer protection layer to uniformly adhere to a recording medium having a color toner image formed thereon.SOLUTION: The glossy image forming method includes a pressurizing step, an adhesion step, and a peeling step. In the pressurizing step, a recording medium and a glossy sheet including a base sheet and a transfer resin layer are placed one over the other so that the transfer resin layer is in contact with a surface having a color toner image formed thereon, and pressure is applied to them. In the adhesion step, the recording medium and the glossy sheet in a state of being placed one over the other and pressurized are heated to cause the transfer resin layer to adhere to the recording medium. At this time, they are heated so that heat energy applied to a blank area to which color toner is not fixed is higher than heat energy applied to an image area to which color toner has been fixed. In the peeling step, the base sheet is peeled from the transfer resin layer adhering to the recording medium. |
