PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foreign substance inspection device in which a foreign substance on the bottom of a glass bottle or in the vicinity of the bottom can be detected by imaging the glass bottle with a camera from an obliquely upper side of a bottle body while the glass bottle in an upright state is conveyed by a conveyer, without the need to use a large-scaled device such as a spinning device or a rotary conveying device or the need to hold up the glass bottle.SOLUTION: A foreign substance inspection device comprises an illumination 3, a camera 4 and an image processor. The illumination 3 is disposed in one side part of a conveyer 2, has an illumination plane 3a along a conveyance direction of the conveyer 2, and floods a glass bottle 1 conveyed by the conveyer 2 with illumination light from a side direction. The camera 4 is disposed in another side part of the conveyer 2 and images a bottle bottom part 1b of the glass bottle 1 conveyed by the conveyer 2 from an obliquely upper side. The image processor processes an image captured by the camera 4. The image processor performs image processing for determining, from the image, whether a real image formed by an object actually present on the bottle bottom part 1b and a back-side image projecting the object on a bottle bottom back surface 1b-BS are paired or not. |
