PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly and surely provide braking force until wheels are brought into a stopped state only by controlling a permanent magnet synchronous motor arranged in a wheel without requiring a friction braking device.SOLUTION: A rotor of a permanent magnet synchronous motor IPM including the rotor having a permanent magnet and a stator capable of rotationally driving the rotor is coupled to a wheel W of each vehicle wheel to be integrally rotated. A braking device is provided with a power supply type braking means PSB for applying braking force to each wheel by supplying power to the permanent magnet synchronous motor IPM. For example, the stator is excited in the same phase as excitation with respect to the stator in a rotational direction of the rotor. The excitation brakes are applied to all the wheels.
