The biosensor outputs a physical amount that has correlation with the amount of a first fixed complex composite 4b constituted by the fixed target substance 2 and the target substance bound substance 3 and also with the change of a surface state in the target substance fixing part 101. A target substance detection method is the method for detecting the target substance in the sample S by the target substance detection biosensor 1.
