PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device of detecting damage on a tool using an in-process detection means with less disturbance.SOLUTION: In the method, displacement due to oscillation of the tool 2 during operation is measured by a non-contact displacement sensor 1, and abnormality determination is performed by comparing the measured result with a threshold set as a determination value of existence and absence of abnormality due to damage being either one of friction, chipping, or deficit of the tool 2. |
