The tool (8) has a plastic block (9) comprising a holding unit (11) for holding a wedge (4). A stop (12) is positioned in the block with respect to an edge (1a) of a window pane (1). A stem (13) is fixed to the block. Another stop (14) is provided at another end of the block. The latter stop is intended to bear against the window pane in an area near a side face of an adhesive strand (2), which is adjacent to the edge of the window pane. The block is provided with a grip handle (15) that is extended in direction opposite to direction of the stem.
